  <p style="clear: both;">Hi all Miwa and I have been invited to participate in the
  annual kite making day at Socrates. We'll be showing everyone how
  to make the <a href=
  "http://metm.org/collabo/kite_project/">shopping bag kites</a>.
  The goal is to get as many shopping bags into the sky as possible
  to come on down!</p>

<p>From the <b>Press Release</b>:</p>

  <p class="quote"> Long Island City, NY
  (March 10, 2008) : Socrates Sculpture Park and The Noguchi Museum
  are proud to present the sixth annual kite making workshop and
  flying event. This free hands-on workshop will take place at
  Socrates Sculpture Park and welcomes children of all ages to
  participate. This year, children and their families will find an
  excellent new use for plastic bags by transforming this durable, and
  light weight material into beautiful recycled kites! Kite designs
  are provided by artists Miwa Koizumi and Marco Scoffier who will
  draw inspiration from the Park's fantastic view of the Manhattan
  skyline. Participants will have the opportunity to build and
  decorate their kites, then fly them in the Park. (<a href=

rumors of a possible Lower East Side (lox and bagels) ice cream
creation.</p>

<p class="quote">Echoing the experience of a New York street scene, we present a
variety of smells, sounds, and sights, co-existing and competing for
attention. Familiar objects, from ice cream to cookbooks, are
presented in new and unexpected ways. As street vendors offer exotic
twists on common products, screenings of artists' food films and a
display of artists' cookbooks complete the carnival atmosphere.

<h3>Sept. 17th - Oct. 22nd 2005 :: Flux Factory </h3>
<p><a
    href="http://almost-something.com"><img alt="-->"
    class="inline"
                src="http://almost-something.com/images/title.gif"
                width="193" height="40" /></a>Almost Something is an art show, which
                includes concerts and movie nights. It is easy to get lost in the
                imaginations of more than 20 artists including musicians, writers,
                film-makers and fakes. Critics have created 4 separate guide books with
                maps and an audio tour. These are your tools, they are all unreliable,
                sniffing out the fakes is up to you.</p>

                <p>What the critics are saying about <a
                href="http://almost-something.com">Almost Something</a>:</p>
                <p class="quote"><b>Melting Pot</b>: The work of nearly 20 artists has been
                melted into the fabric of the gallery space to the point where the gallery
                feels completely empty. Once the news was life becoming Art, today with
                Almost Something Art once again becomes life.</p>

                <p class="quote"><b>'Which tour guide would you prefer?'</b>, asks the
                art-hotty at the counter. "tour guide?" "prefer?" I am intrigued.
                Multiple tour guides have been written to lead me through very different
                versions of the same show. On closer inspection it seems that some
                projects appear in every guide, some in just a few, some in none at all.
                What is the Art? What am I really meant to see. I guess in the end I have
                to come up with the solution myself.</p>

                <p class="quote"><b>A la carte</b>: Appearances aren't to be trusted and
                Almost Something is never quite what it seems. Offered a variety of
                perspectives, we, the viewers are asked to piece together the reality of
                this show to our own liking.</p>

                <p>Come check out this show, there are special events every weekend, it is
                going to be awesome...</p>

                on most computers. The whole 'conversation piece' part of the site has
                been updated with the better video files, so please let me know what you

    who work with a specific material: metalwork, weaving, Miwa is showing her
    plaster work. Videos showing the creation process of each artist will be
    shown. Miwa has a great new way of presenting her video, on a hacked up
    laptop display! We are going to use this type of display a lot more in the
    future.</p>
